Brian Banks Interview
The former high school football star who
was falsely accused of rape talks about
his arrest and being faced with the
decision of either taking a plea deal or
going to trial, the latter of which could
have resulted in life in prison. With his
lawyer telling him they would lose because
he was black and the jury would be white,
Brian Banks decided to take the deal. His
lawyer told him that after undergoing a
90-day observation at Chino State Prison,
he would be reevaluated and she was sure
the judge would release him. The judge
didn't and instead gave him the maximum
sentence of six years. The interview ends
with Banks talking about his exoneration
in 2012, after his accuser, Wanetta
Gibson, confessed that she had lied.
