Finest Hours Featurette Featuring the Real Andy Fitzgerald

The Finest Hours featurette offers an overview of the film, interspersed with comments from the actors and two of the real heroes, former Coast Guardsmen Andy Fitzgerald and Mel Gouthro, who were both part of the crew of Motor Lifeboat CG-36500. Fitzgerald participated in the rescue of the survivors of the SS Pendleton tanker. Gouthro was sidelined on the day of the rescue due to the flu.
