Naomi Watts portrays Sam Bloom, a mother
who is paralyzed following a 20-foot fall
when a railing gives way. Sinking into
depression, Sam and her family find solace
in nursing an injured magpie back to
health. The bird makes an unexpected
difference in their lives. The movie is
based on the book co-written by Sam's
husband, Cameron Bloom, portrayed by
Andrew Lincoln in the
Penguin
Bloom movie.
