President Reagan's Speech About Barry Seal's Undercover Mission
Watch President Ronald Reagan's address to
the nation on Nicaragua and Central
America, delivered from the Oval Office on
November 13, 1986. In his address, Reagan
talks about a photo taken by a hidden
camera on Barry Seal's plane. The photo
shows Federico Vaughan, who Seal claimed
was a top aide to Tomas Borge, the
Nicaraguan government's Minister of the
Interior. If true, it proved that the
Sandinista government of Nicaragua was
indeed involved in the drug trade, and it
provided evidence for the need to back the
rebel armies (Contras).
