Rez Ball Trailer
Rez Ball was inspired by Michael
Powell's nonfiction book
Canyon
Dreams, which follows a high school
basketball season on the Navajo Nation.
The Netflix movie deviates significantly
from the book, replacing the Wildcats of
Chinle High School with the fictional
Chuska Warriors. The film also depicts the
head coach as being a woman when in real
life the coach was the legendary Raul
Mendoza, who had coached and mentored
thousands of student-athletes over four
decades.
Rez Ball was produced by
LeBron James and the co-creator of
Reservation Dogs.
