Skin tells the story of Bryon
Widner, who in real life decided to give
up his life as a skinhead with the help of
his wife Julie and a black activist. Part
of this included having his racist tattoos
removed, a process that took more than a
year and a half. After leaving the racist
movement he'd been part of, he endured
years of death threats. His story is
chronicled in the 2011 documentary
Erasing Hate.
